Libraries

The Town of Minto is home to three branches of the Wellington County Library system, including Clifford, Harriston and Palmerston. Both the Harriston and Palmerston branches are Carnegie libraries, and have enjoyed the patronage of generations since Andrew Carnegie’s initial investment in the early 1900s.

You can search the Library’s collection, place holds, renew items, review your library account and more by going to our onlineLibrary Catalogue  (wellington.ca/library). Our branches are all connected. This means if there’s a book or DVD you want at another branch, we’ll ship it to your branch for you to borrow. The mission of the Library is “to enhance the knowledge, skills, enterprise, and enjoyment of the people of Wellington County through the provision of high quality library service.” Year after year, community use of the Library grows. Visit the Wellington County Library for programming events at each library!

Use a Computer

All Wellington County Library branches have several computers with internet access available for use. Surf the web, access the library’s databases or search the catalogue. Laptops are available to borrow for in-library use at some branches.

Free Wi-Fi

WiFi is also available at all Wellington County Library branches. Bring your laptop or mobile device into any branch for free, high speed, wireless access to the internet.
