Libraries
The Town of Minto is home to three branches of the Wellington County Library system, including Clifford, Harriston and Palmerston. Both the Harriston and Palmerston branches are Carnegie libraries, and have enjoyed the patronage of generations since Andrew Carnegie’s initial investment in the early 1900s.
You can search the Library’s collection, place holds, renew items, review your library account and more by going to our online Library Catalogue or downloading the My WCL App on your android or iPhone.
Our branches are all connected. This means if there’s an item you want at another branch, we’ll ship it to your branch for you to borrow. The mission of the Library is “to enhance the knowledge, skills, enterprise, and enjoyment of the people of Wellington County through the provision of high quality library service.” Our library staff members are dedicated, skilled, and friendly members of your community. Come see what your library has to offer!
Collections
Our collection is continuously growing. Beyond the latest releases of books and DVDs, you can borrow videogames, board games, park passes, musical instruments, book club sets, iPads, Chromebooks, and maker kits. Or take advantage of our Seed Library which provides access to seeds free of charge for anyone interested in growing.
Computer and Wi-Fi
All Wellington County Library branches have computers with internet access available for use. Surf the web, print, fax, scan, access the library’s databases or search the catalogue. WiFi is also available at all Wellington County Library branches. Bring your laptop or mobile device into any branch for free, high speed, wireless access to the internet. Or, borrow one of our wireless hotspots for free, unlimited internet at home.
