Notice to Minto Pines Water Customers
ENDED As Of May 4, 2023
NOTICE TO MINTO PINES WATER CUSTOMERS - PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER ADVISORY
The New Well project will commence on April 24, 2023. This project will include the drilling of a new production well for the Minto Pines Drinking Water System. During the drilling and commissioning of the new well, the existing well will be out of service. During this time the Minto Pines water system will be pressurized by a temporary water supply with very limited capacity. The Town of Minto asks that starting April 24 water consumers should conserve water and avoid any non-essential water usage such as lawn & garden watering, car washing, pool filling, ect.
The Town is issuing a precautionary boil water advisory starting Monday April 24, 2023 at 8:00 am and continuing for approximately two weeks or until work is complete. The Town will hand deliver a notice informing consumers that the boil water has been lifted and it is safe to resume normal water consumption.
If plans for the project get changed due to unforeseen circumstances, a “Notice for Change of Plans” will be hand delivered to your home to inform you of such.
The precautionary boil water advisory is applicable to water used for drinking, brushing teeth and washing food. Containers can be filled prior to the boil water being in effect for use during the outage. Bottled water is an option you can use instead of boiling your water.
How to make your water safe to drink by boiling?
- Bring it to a rolling boil for one minute. Timing starts when large bubbles begin to continuously rise and break rapidly at the surface.
- Cool the water and place it in clean containers
- Use or refrigerate
