Town of Minto Council will begin recruitment for a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MONDAY MARCH 14, 2022

TOWN OF MINTO, ON - Town of Minto Council will begin recruitment for a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) as current CAO Derrick Thomson announces his departure. CAO Derrick Thomson will be the New CAO for Bruce County.

Mayor George Bridge says, “On behalf of the entire Town, I would like to thank CAO Thomson for his public service and guiding leadership that saw us through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Derrick has helped build a foundation of modernization and good governance. We wish Derrick well in his new position.”

CAO Thomson began at the Town of Minto in January of 2020. He has successfully guided the municipality through the pandemic while continuing to enhance essential services through initiatives related to fiscal responsibility, community growth, and economic development.

CAO Thomson adds, “Thank you to my Minto colleagues. It has been a privilege to work with this motivated Council and staff supporting a strong community through these challenging times. Thank you also to the business community and residents. Under Minto’s Department Head Team, I see continued success and a bright future."

Town of Minto Council will discuss and make decisions on next steps for the recruitment of a new CAO in the days ahead.
