WELLINGTON COUNTY OPERATING IN RED CONTROL ZONE AS OF TODAY
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FEBRUARY 16, 2021
TOWN OF MINTO, ON - The Town of Minto, along with the rest of Wellington County, reenters the red zone today. With this slight loosening of restrictions, the Town of Minto remains devoted to ensuring all safety measures are followed to both protect our residents and staff.
The new red zone restrictions come into effect today. Residents are still encouraged to limit close contact to your household and not allow visitors into their home. All events and social gatherings are limited to 5 people indoors and 25 people outside. Stores are permitted to open for in store shopping at various capacity limits. These limits and more information regarding red zone rules can be found at covid-19.ontario.ca/zones-and-restrictions.
The Town of Minto is happy to announce the reopening of the Harriston Arena ice surface for rental. All three community centres are open to rent as well at a capacity limit of 10 people indoors. The Norgan Theatre remains closed at this time.
The Town of Minto Municipal Office will remain closed to the public for the time being. As always, continuity of essential services such as fire, water, wastewater, and road maintenance will be ensured. The remainder of the municipal staff including building services, recreation, administration and economic development will be continuing to work from various alternate locations, to ensure that staff are distanced properly. Residents are still urged to call the municipal office, follow the appropriate phone prompts and leave a voicemail. Staff will be checking their voicemails remotely, and will return calls when possible. If residents know the email address of the person they need to reach; electronic communication is encouraged. All staff emails are listed under the Contact Us section of the town website at www.town.minto.on.ca/contact-us.
Individuals who have questions or concerns regarding COVID-19 should contact Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health at 1-800-265-7293 or visit www.wdgpublichealth.ca/coronavirus.
