Town Staff Working Towards Opening Farmers' Market, Railway Museum, Splash Pad, Pools and Day Camp Programs

TOWN STAFF WORKING TOWARDS OPENING FARMERS’ MARKET, RAILWAY MUSEUM, SPLASH PAD, POOLS AND DAY CAMP PROGRAMS

MINTO - The Town of Minto continues to keep public safety as top priority during the unique circumstances surrounding COVID-19. After the recent Provincial announcement, Town staff are working towards opening farmers’ market, railway museum, splash pad, pools and day camp programs.

Staff are reviewing Provincial, Health Unit and Lifesaving Society documents while working towards opening these places. If all goes well, the farmers’ market and railway museum could open as early as June 20th, while the splash pad, pools and day camp programs could open and begin as early as July 6th.

Limitations will be put in place to protect our vendors, staff and participants. Playgrounds will remain closed at this time as per the Provincial order.
Parks and most parks amenities remain open and residents are reminded that the following rules remain in place:

1) gatherings of no more than 10; previously 5
2) staying home if you feel unwell
3) practicing social distancing
4) practicing frequent hand washing

The Town of Minto municipal office, as well as recreation and theatre facilities will remain closed to the public for the time being.
