MEDIA RELEASE
ALL MUNICIPAL BUILDINGS IN THE TOWN OF MINTO TO REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL MAY 31, 2020.
The Town of Minto continues to keep public safety as top priority during the unique circumstances surrounding COVID-19. After consultation with many other agencies, all municipal buildings within the Town of Minto will remain closed until May 31, 2020.
The Town of Minto municipal office, as well as, recreation and culture facilities will remain closed to the public. This consists of all arenas, curling clubs, community halls, museums, theatres, playgrounds, public recreation spaces, Launch It Minto and any other town run facilities. All public and committee meetings are also cancelled until May 31, 2020. At this time the COVID-19 situation will be reassessed and an update provided.
Essential services such as fire, water, wastewater, road maintenance and minimal building services will be the only departments with staff operating at the municipal office. The rest of the municipal staff are continuing to work from home. Residents are still urged to call the municipal office, follow the appropriate phone prompts and leave a voicemail. Staff will return voicemails when possible. If residents know the email address of the person they need to reach; electronic communication is encouraged.
The Town of Minto wishes to extend sincere appreciation to the community for their cooperation and patience during such unprecedented circumstances. It is times like these where the strength and perseverance of our community really shines. Minto will come through this together stronger.
