Job Opportunity: Temporary Recreation Facilities Operator

The Town of Minto is well situated between the major centres of southern Ontario and popular recreational areas along the eastern shore of Lake Huron and southern Georgian Bay. This rural community with a population of approximately 9,000 is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Recreation Facilities Operator to join our team.

Reporting directly to the Recreation and Facilities Coordinator, The Town of Minto seeks a motivated individual to join our team for a one year contract, commencing August 2019. The position will be responsible for assisting in the operations and upkeep of municipally owned parks and recreation facilities, and must have a great rapport when dealing with members of the public. Duties will include the maintenance of recreational facilities, including arenas, outdoor pools, auditoriums, playgrounds, soccer fields and baseball diamonds as well as the parks.

Hours of work are flexible, totaling up to 40 hours per week. Evening and weekend work will be required. Hours for this position are assigned by the Recreation and Facilities Coordinator.

The successful candidate has a minimum secondary school diploma. Consideration will be given to those who have obtained, or are willing to obtain, the following courses and certifications:
o Certified Ice Technician
o CPR & First Aid
o Propane Handling
o Smart Serve
