The Town of Minto is well situated between the major centres of southern Ontario and popular recreational areas along the eastern shore of Lake Huron and southern Georgian Bay. This rural community with a population of approximately 9,000 is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Building Inspector to join our team.
Reporting to the office of the CAO, The Town of Minto seeks a motivated individual to join our administrative team for a 9 week contract, commencing July 2 2019. The position will be responsible for the efficient management of the reception area, including being the first point of contact for ratepayers. Duties will include receiving and processing phone calls, directing inquiries to appropriate departments, and basic data entry comprising of mainly burn permits and complaints/inquiries from the public. Dependent upon the skills of the successful candidate, basic accounts receivable and cash handling may also be required.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, equaling 37.5 hours per week with an unpaid 60 minute lunch period.
The successful candidate has a minimum secondary school diploma and must be enrolled in post-secondary school in the Fall. The ability to multi-task, excellent oral and written communication skills, aptitude with computers and capability to quickly pick up basic software packages is essential to this position.
