Public Meeting: Harriston Flooding Presentations

A Public Meeting and Discussion regarding the Harriston Flooding was held on Tuesday May 29 at 6:30 pm at the Harriston - Minto Community Complex.

The meeting provided a historical look at flooding in Harriston, describing the flood event that took place on June 23, 2017 and February 20, 2018, detailed response by the Town of Minto, Conservation Authority, Minto Fire, the County of Wellington and others during the event, and introduced a program underway to try to reduce the impact of flooding in Harriston. The program looks at upstream, in Town and downstream work to help reduce flooding potential.

Members of the public were welcome to attend to hear presentations and ask questions directly to representative of the Town, Conservation Authority, Minto Fire and the County of Wellington about your ideas regarding reducing flood impact.
