Minto Fire lifts total burn ban effective July 23
TOWN OF MINTO - Residents looking to enjoy a campfire this weekend can safely do so.
On July 23 Minto Fire announced that the total open-air burn ban that was placed on July 11 has been lifted.
"Effective immediately, we have lifted the open-air burn ban due to the rain Minto received over the weekend," said Minto Fire in a release.
Even with the burn ban lifted, Minto Fire recommends that people still take caution around any campfire. They recommend that those having a campfire ensure that a reliable water source is nearby to extinguish the fire, and reminds residents that camping and cooking fires under two feet by two feet are permitted.
Large open-air burning requires a permit, which can be obtained by calling the Town of Minto at 519-338-2511.
