Drew's park and pavilion offers an excellent space for outdoor events, with access to men’s and women’s washrooms with flush toilets, a partial kitchen that includes a refrigerator, sink and running water, lighting for night ball games, and picnic tables that create a relaxed space for eating and socializing.
Cultural Moment
The rural community of Drew is much more than what it appears on the surface. The anchor of the community is its ball diamond, pavilion and community hall. Its heart is the many volunteers that maintain the centre. With a strong sense of history, tradition and volunteerism, the people in this area try to maintain a strong family based centre for the enjoyment of all ages.
Throughout the winter months there are regular euchre nights the second Saturday evening of each month from October to April. In February, there is an annual Snow Volleyball Tournament at the park. Spring and summer has the park busy with both men’s and women’s slowpitch games. A recent addition to the park is the revival of fun baseball for younger children. This gives families an inexpensive activity for the summer allowing them to network with each other in a casual, positive setting.
The hall, pavilion and park are available for family reunions, corporate events, meetings, bridal showers, birthday parties, anniversaries and more.
